Burnley V Portsmouth  : Feb 27th 2010

The day after administration was officially announced, turned out to be the 1st trip of 2010 that involved a minibus.  The days of frequent trips via these super 17 seaters came flooding back.  After the 3 usual pick-ups and ensuring we had enough fuel for the van and ourselves we headed south.

Those with the weak bladders soon started to emerge as it suddenly became a tour of all the motorway service stations. After a few hours in the bus and some expert navigation from Benny we arrive at Turf Moor, just in time for a few more drinks and a pie at the Cricket Club.  Once refreshed 5 mins round the corner and we started to fill the ground.

The Pompey support that I have witnessed over the years and which has been the backbone of PFC was evident once again. The feeling was that regardless of what was happening off the field, on the field today would be the start of a good run as we say farewell to the premiership.

The commitment from the players was a sign to both Managers and fans, we are here to play football, which is what we do best.  The game was a lively affair and was reflected correctly in the 1 - 2 score line.

On the way back, getting out of Burnley took a while, but typical  of city centre grounds.  Once on the motorway, we decided to sing as many pompey songs as we could, past and present.

Roll on Wigan, Bolton and Everton.!!!!!!!!
